The path to a happy, healthy life lies in how well-nourished your mind, body and soul are on a regular basis. Learning self-love can drastically change the course of your life. And no, it’s not always chocolate, bubble baths and retail therapy.
When thinking of the word “nourish” or considering self-love and care, you will discover words like cherish, nurture, foster or nurse, as well as to provide the food or other substances necessary for growth, health, and good conditioning. But rarely do you hear people say they eat to nurture, nurse or for growth.
Consider the following ideas to help nourish and care for your spirit:
It can also be about how you choose to nourish your body. How is all this related to the food and the decisions we make around food, you ask?
Decisions we make around food often relate directly to other things happening in our life. Understanding the basis for the decisions can be very helpful in developing a successful plan. It requires us to step out of the situation to be able to reflect and make healthy decisions.
As you begin to think about how you would like to get started “nourishing” your whole body, ask yourself these questions:
People eat because they are hungry, or they eat certain foods because they want to lose weight or gain muscle. Maybe they are managing a disease or they are eating simply because it is time to do so. But really, do you ever eat just because it’s there?
