Dropped St Francis and warren Clinic?

Why have you chosen to no longer accept St. Francis and Warren Clinic as in-network providers and only given 1 month to complete treatments and/or find a new provider. Had I know you would do this when I re-enrolled I would not have chosen you as my insurance provider. I will be changing insurance companies as quickly as possible to get my doctor for 15 years back as quickly as possible unless BCBS OK allows St. Francis/Warren Clinic. Some areas only have doctors through St. Francis. This is extremely short-sighted for a health insurance company who supposedly cares about the health of Oklahoma.

  • Hi Nedra, Despite our best efforts at reaching an agreement, our contracts with Saint Francis Health System expired on April 30, 2021. This is not the outcome we hoped for. We’re currently in a 90-day transition period. Saint Francis will leave our networks on July 29, 2021.  More information is available here >> https://www.bcbsok.com/saintfrancis ~ Kayla

    • Again you are giving your customers one month to complete necessary therapies. How does that equate with a company that cares about it customers' health?

    • Are there any updates on BCBSOK getting the contract back to the original that St Francis says they will sign.  The news media and everyone else seems to have dropped this story, talking to our insurance broker, they have no info either and didn't know about the issue at all.

The communications or non-communications issues are not good here.  Our company has been with BCBS for 10 plus years, we will not leave the St Francis system and will have to explore alternate insurance if this doesn't get fixed.  Please tell someone there to be more communicative and let us know updates, our insurance broker said many companies are looking to leave the BCBSOK network to stick with St Francis .

Let's start talking please. give us updates. something.  The new President and CEO of St Francis should be in contact with you all, could someone do a press release and just let us clients know what is going on.

This has evolved way beyond serious mis and non communications.

Is BCBS prepared to lose business due to this?

  • I am also concerned about the status of the contract with St. Francis. I am a transplant patient, and we picked our health insurance based on the fact that we can interact with our transplant team. Now, in mid-contract (ours), you are telling us we have to find a whole new set of physicians who know nothing about my health history .

This situation has never come up before in close to 40 years of having health insurance. I am deeply concerned, and frankly upset that you are able to alter our contract for providers (in network physicians etc….), and we have no recourse.

    This is a real eye-opener!

    • Hello, Some plans may allow for you to receive a waiver to continue seeing your transplant team, even after the contract period has ended. You can send us a private message here or  contact customer service at the number on your Id card and we can check on this for you. ~ Kayla

    • Are negotiations still taking place with St. Francis/Warren Clinic? The lack of communication on this issue is extremely frustrating since 90% of the providers we use for our healthcare are affiliated with St. Francis and/or Warren Clinic.
