What is a home delivery pharmacy service?
Like many of you, I need to take a few medications to stay healthy. Most of the prescriptions I take are long-term, or maintenance drugs. After I started receiving my treatments, I found myself at the pharmacy for a prescription refill every month. Each trip involved a long wait and sometimes a mistake, which meant I had to come back and wait again. Needless to say, the routine became frustrating. I knew there had to be a better way to get my prescriptions and refill them. I thought it would be much easier if they could be mailed to me and cut out my trip to the pharmacy. Then I learned about using the AllianceRx Walgreens Prime home delivery service through my Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma pharmacy benefit.
I also learned that I can get refill reminders and notifications when my prescriptions have been shipped. The packaging doesn’t show that medications are inside, so it’s safe and secure. I don’t have to be at home to sign for them, so it’s convenient. If I have questions, I have 24/7 access to customer service and can reach a pharmacist seven days a week. It’s nice to know there are pharmacy support services available to me.
Using a Home Delivery Pharmacy ServiceAfter doing some research, I was able to find some information online. A home delivery pharmacy service is one that delivers your medications directly to you. Your personal health information stays safe and secure while giving you the convenience of bringing the pharmacy to your home. I decided to give it a try. First, I wanted to confirm my prescription benefits.
Other Tidbits to Know:After I confirmed my prescription drug benefits, I signed up for the AllianceRx Walgreens Prime home delivery. Now, when I order a new prescription and the doctor asks where I’d like it to go, I ask them to send the prescription directly to AllianceRx Walgreens Prime. A few days later, I get the medication in the mail. Of course, if it is more urgent, I can always ask for a second 14-day prescription for a one-time fill at my local pharmacy.
What Happens When I Need a Refill?When I need to refill, I either can log in online, or I can call AllianceRx Walgreens Prime at 877-357-7463.
